Elmo Lombard
In the wake of the 1998 economic crash, characterized by soaring interest rates and the bankruptcy of our retail bookstore, my life underwent a profound transformation. Faced with the responsibility of two young daughters, I swiftly transitioned from a bookstore owner to an IT professional by completing an MCSE course.
Securing a position at Brainware Consulting marked the beginning of my corporate journey, where I navigated from accidental server mishaps to obtaining certifications in various technologies. Despite financial success, I discovered my dissatisfaction with a purely technical focus, prompting me to pursue an MBA part-time. This decision reshaped my career, leading to my fulfilling roles at Deloitte Consulting.
However, fatigue and a demanding pace led me to a critical decision in 2010 – leaving Deloitte for a second-tier company, which eventually forced my departure. Amid financial struggles and a diagnosed health condition, my wife’s digital marketing agency became a lifeline. Unexpected challenges, including legal disputes over unpaid salary, tested our resilience.
Networking groups and strategic adaptations helped rebuild our marketing agency, eventually flourishing into a successful venture with partnerships and recognition. Yet, in 2015, a religious rights controversy led to the mass resignation of employees and the liquidation of the company.
Undeterred, I persisted in business consulting, delving into diverse projects. A renewed foray into marketing, this time collaborating with freelancers, ensued. In 2020, guided by an international coach, we distilled our successful client interactions into five comprehensive packages—Marketing 360°™, Selling Value 360°™, Blue Ocean Strategy 360°™, Business Systems 360°™, and Dashboards 360°™—providing measurable solutions.
The journey, marked by hardships, resilience, and adaptation, ultimately resulted in tangible success through innovative business solutions.
